Happy New Year

(Fireworks are from Sydney's New Year's Eve 2008 celebrations)

New Year's Eve is always a good time to reflect on the past and look forward to the future. The past year has been a happy one with lots of positive developments in our household. As ever, there is always room for improvement in the 21st Century Household.

I recently submitted a fun article about New Years Resolutions to our local magazine, The Moreton Hall Directory. If you live locally, you should be able to read it in the issue that will be distributed in the next few days.

For those who live further afield, here is what I have in store for 2008.

1. Lose weight
2. Eat less chocolate (that will help no.1)
3. Drink less wine (another aid to no. 1)
4. Keep in touch with friends, with the extra phone call or letter
5. Always write Christmas cards three weeks earlier.
6. Watch less TV
7. Do more exercise (yet another aid to no.1)
8. Indulge in fewer cafĂ© lattes (there’s no.1 again)
9. Eat less cake (already I am feeling thinner).
10. Waste less
11. Use fewer plastic bags (which helps no 10)
12. Buy less (which helps no.10 and no. 11)
13. Spend less (also helps nos 10, 11 & 12 - that’s 3 for the price of 1 - bargain!)
14. Cook more
15. Grow more vegetables
16. Be more adventurous in my cooking (shame about the cakes)
17. Keep on top of the housework
18. Employ a cleaner (well it’s the only way I will manage to keep on top of the housework – oh no but I will have to spend more)
19. Drive less
20. …and last but not least…. laugh more (I need to when considering this amount of backlog)

Well with that lot to consider...I'd better get cracking!

See you next year!

Happy New Year Everyone
P.S. Hope you enjoy the fireworks

You're ambitious, 21CM!

I shall stick to all the ones involving weight loss, as I need to lose a stone.

Love your last entry - No 20!
I need to add that one to the TOP of my list ;D

I'm going to ask a big favour now 21CM (to all the 'Bury' Bloggers really) in that I'm looking for a house to rent in BSE. It's only for myself, so nothing too fancy, 1 or 2 bed, parking... Just thought I'd ask if anyone knows who has a spare house (some do!)

Sos to be making a selfish comment post, but if you don't ask you don't get eh?

Happy new year!

Well Paul, I am ambitious but still contented. Not a bad starting point for any set of new year's resolutions. Good luck with the weight loss.

Happy New Year Pog - and good luck with the the house search. I'm sorry that I don't know anyone with a spare house, but hopefully someone reading this will have contacts. ;-D

Well Pog, you are some serious blogger! Looking at your site is somewhat humbling for us fledgling bloggers (I don't include 21CM!).

Don't know of any house but am happy for you to comment on my blog if it helps - I'm not to fussed about blogiquette (?)

Well first of all, Happy New Year all, and thanks 21st CM for letting me hijack your blog ;d

The USAF pay the rents for the soldiers, so landlords pump up the rents in Mildenhall. Great if you're in the military/landlord, but not so good for people working here.

Paul, thank you for the comment offer. I shall try and slip that one in, somehow :D

PS: Let me know of any meida files you are hunting, and I'll do my best to find them for you (all)

Hi Pog - you can't beat Bury you know...so good luck in heading back this way. Boo to Mildenhall landlords.

Hi MaL - thanks for the well wishes...it's going well so far. I ate the remainder of the chocolates on New Year's Day to avoid any further temptation. The Christmas Cake has now all gone. 21st C Dad and I have been suffering from the lurgy so have not drunk any wine and finally he's also borrowed my car over the last few days because of the crack in his windscreen. So it's all going in the right direction.

Hope the book is coming on well. I haven't forgotten about sending you my story and I promise I will get that done soon. ;-D

Hi Ruby - doesn't it show how great minds think alike ;0D

"Health Atkins" has lost me 6 lbs in 2 days - mainly fluid I know, but a great boost to the real stuff: regular exercise and sensible eating. Try it for a week.

Hi Paul - be careful, you'll be fading away if you don't watch out.
