Fine Dining for Families

There must be something about The Fox, when it comes to pub/restaurant names. I regularly visit The Fox in Bury St Edmunds, which is excellent and is a firm favourite of mine. However, for Father's Day, we travelled further afield to visit The Fox at Little Wratting, a new restaurant that has recently opened on the Bury St Edmunds to Haverhill road.

The journey took about 30 minutes from Bury and was well worth the ride. One reason for our visit was that the manager had booked one of my businesses to provide art & craft activities for children. So with child-oriented facilities on tap and a tempting menu to boot, we thought we would give it a try for our family day out.

The venue held up to the excellent image that is portrayed on the restaurant's website. However, what really made the day was how the venue accommodated families, which was really refreshing.

Children of all ages are made very welcome and are positively encouraged. Alongside the adult menu, there was an excellent children's menu, offering a good selection of freshly made meals with healthy ingredients.

To add to the experienc
e there is a well-equipped playground on-site, along with a size-able lawn which can be used for games.

And of course, I can't resist the opportunity to put in a plug regarding the art & craft facilities, which kept all the children actively entertained throughout the course of the afternoon.

Even though this is a family-friendly restaurant, it is not to be mistaken for a place that is over-run by noisy kids. Instead it offers mature facilities for the discerning visitor with the added bonus of child-friendly accommodation.

The whole experience made for a very relaxing Father's Day. For the first time in a long while, Dad had a chance to chill-out without feeling the pressure of brotherly battles, dinner table to-dos and other distractions.

We enjoyed a civilised grown-up meal, which was promptly served, well-presented and delicious. For the first time in our family history, we did not feel the need to make any form of sharp exit. Instead, we only noticed the time when we checked the clock and realised we had been there for three hours.

Regardless of any link at a business level, I will definitely be visiting again...My birthday's coming up soon, so it looks like there could be another booking. ;-)
