Taking responsibility

Today my four year old asked if he could have some cheese.

I said yes and asked if he could get it from the fridge.

And he did.

He then asked if he could have his little knife.

I said yes and asked if he could get it from the kitchen top.

To which he replied.

"Mummy, you've got legs, Why don't you get it?"

Humph! Now where did he get that one from?

His Dad. Definitely his Dad. :D

It's really scary when you hear yourself through your children isn't it.

Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings, ay?

I get "Mam, don't be so lazy" and I don't say that, so it must be their Dad!

Yikes I hate it when they start quoting you back. At the dinner table my 5-year-old son is all: "elbows off the table daddy", "don't talk with food in your mouth daddy", "sit up straight daddy". (Notice how it's all telling daddy off. That's because mummy is perfect - cough cough).

Did you beat him with a stick? Or as we do, run like hell for the door so they don't see you laugh?

Hi everyone - sorry for not replying individually, but as I was just finishing the last post my 7 year old announced that little T has just painted the carpet. Damn I should have known it was too quiet for my own good. Thanks for keeping the visits up. I know I've been silent and I keep promising I'll try to do better. So I'll make that promise again. Great to meet Jo, Susanna and Caroline yesterday. I'll come over and visit you soon when I've cleaned that blimmin carpet. Green paint and beige carpet...sigh...I'll be a while :-( x
