The festive season is upon us...

(Tudor Rose Florist, Hatter Street, Bury St Edmunds)

...and it's time to kick off the celebrations...The Christmas tree has been bought and the Christmas Tree fairy & her decorators will hopefully visit our house tonight to make it look pretty by morning.

In the meantime, I have been indulging in some of the prettiest sights of Bury St Edmunds whilst enjoying some festive mulled wine.

...not forgetting the fantastic Christmas Fair, which is in the heart of Angel Hill, where we have enjoyed funfair rides, a living nativity scene, a Victorian market and French market with live music playing in the background. Don't miss Ruby's account on her Living in Bury St Edmunds blog, where you will see some great photos, including a brush with Captain Jack Sparrow and a huge, (and I mean) HUGE snowman.

Let the festivities continue...
...now where are those little fairies, there's a bare tree in need of decorating.

No fair! I want MY tree. Picklesdad went to football yesterday instead and today making a pickle costume for Christmas play. Hopefully by next weekend we will have our 8ft tree in our living room.

8ft tree PM? Us poor folk who live in the old part of town don't have rooms that high. Lucky you-mind you, I couldn't reach the top to decorate anyway-good exscuse to leave it to someone else.

AH, 8FT includes the useless tall thin stalk at the top. We chop that off then we are left with a nice shaped big tree. A 6ft one is all stalk. Hopefully I will be able to show you a photo soon...

Hi Florries mum and Picklesmum - festive greetings. I am so glad PM has clarified the 8ft tree. I was beginning to feel inadequate there, we've just managed to squeeze in a 7 footer.

FM - you should put your request in for the Christmas Tree Fairy - it works a treat. PM can't wait to see photos of your tree next week...(Bah Humbug to Picklesdad going off to football when he could have gone and got you your tree!) I've been making costumes today too - I'm now completely in the festive spirit! ;-D

Hi Jo and Laura - it's such a fab window display isn't it. I wish it would stay there forever, as it looks like a lovely fairytale world.
