The Domestic Goddess (Not)

Haa haa haa (ROFL). I have just watched The Stepford Wives (2004 production). And to think that I had once harboured ambitions of transforming into a stereotypical 1950s housewife. I even have a pretty blue & pink tea-dress in the wardrobe that would fit into this photo perfectly. (Must admit, I was actually scared by the original 1975 production).

Hi 21st Century Mummy, for a moment I thought you had posted a photo of yourself with some friends - but then I read your post and I am relieved not to see you here. Being a Stepford Wife is not very 21st Century I don't think. I couldn't imagine them blogging!

Hee hee Ingenious Rose - I think if I had friends like these I would definitely have to turn into one of them to survive, but I wouldn't pass muster. The nearest these girls would get to blogging would be dutifully serving refreshments and home-made cake to their husbands sat at the PC. ;-D

Hi Gemma - thanks for passing by. You missed a treat - not the best film I've ever seen but to see Glenn Close and Bette Midler in their respective roles was hilarious. Also the film was only 90 minutes long, just like films used to be, which was refreshing. Hope you enjoyed BB.

Oh, wish I'd seen this! I never have, although I've heard about it. Must try and get a copy from somewhere. That pic just tempts me to want to watch it even more!! ROFL indeed!

Ruby - when you get back to Bury remind me as it would be great to get together to watch it. We could have a Stepford Wives party and dress up for the occasion...er...on second thoughts that might just be a bit sad. Just bring on the wine instead ;-)

21st MC, "The nearest these girls would get to blogging would be dutifully serving refreshments and home-made cake to their husbands sat at the PC" ... sounds good to me, sadly this is a dream I don't think is ever going to come true ... there's only one domestic godess around these parts LOL

But surely if it were the dolls in this picture, it could turn into a nightmare (or is that just me trying to preserve what's left of my sanity) ;-)

Please 21st CM let me watch it with you and Ruby!!!! Have just got back from Yorkshire where I have spent 4 days being teased mercilessly by my good friends for my compulsive cooking and cleaning, but even I wouldnt go that far (although having the figure would be good...) ;)
Missed you!!

Nigella - eh..welcome back to the butt of England, where the local population really appreciate your services...any (btw - any sausage rolls going?). A Stepford Wives night is definitely on the cards. We'll need to wait for Ruby, but in the meantime fancy a So Bar night?

Can I come - please.... I am probably the exact opposite of a Stepford Wife but I could pretend. If not, then Sobar is cool - just give me a shout!
